I run Henley Beauty Bar on my own, from a private studio in Murarrie. There is no front desk, no waiting room and nobody else in the chair beside you. When you book, the appointment is yours from the moment you walk in.
WHAT I AM QUALIFIED IN
I am qualified in hair, beauty, nails and makeup, and I finished my hairdressing qualification most recently, on top of years of beauty work. That list matters for one reason: whatever you come in for, the person doing it is trained in it, and it is the same person every time.
I also run a bridal business and a commercial makeup business, which is why the makeup and styling side of the studio is stronger than you might expect from a hair salon.
WHAT I SPECIALISE IN
Nanoplasty is the thing I am known for. It is a formaldehyde-free smoothing treatment that takes the frizz out and leaves the movement in. I am fussy about who it suits, so every one starts with a proper consultation. If your hair is not a good candidate I will tell you, and suggest something that is.
For colour I use De Lorenzo. It is Australian made, vegan certified and low-tox, which matters when you are the one breathing it in all day, and when you are the one wearing it.
The studio is in Murarrie, in Brisbane’s inner east, with easy parking. The full address comes through when you book. Evening appointments are available, and clients come from Hawthorne, Bulimba, Cannon Hill, Carina, Morningside and Camp Hill, and further afield for nanoplasty.
HOW AN APPOINTMENT RUNS
I book real time for your hair rather than the fastest time I can get away with. We start with a consultation, I explain what I am going to do and roughly how long it will take, and then I do it without hurrying. You will not be handed between three people or left under a dryer while I start someone else.
